In 3 weeks time i will be running the London Marathon (my first and hopefully the only marathon I will have to run!). Somehow I got in through the ballot & 6 months later here we are..

I am raising money for Josie's Dragonfly trust and I am proud to be their first ever London Marathon runner! (lets hope I don't cock it up....)

Josie's Dragonfly Trust supports  young cancer patients with very limited time, helping families and friends create precious and lasting memories together. Josie’s Dragonfly Trust was founded in 2007 by Cliff and Jacqui Grove in memory of their daughter Josie, shortly after she passed away aged 16.

Jo McArthur , a mum & teacher at our school in Lausanne,  was Josie's teacher in Bangkok & was inspired by Josie's strength & determination. Jo lost her own battle with cancer 15 months ago, but until the end she was still taking part in triathlons and encouraging others to go out and make a difference to their lives & others through health & sport. Jo really was an inspiration & how she & her family dealt with her illness and death has been equally as admirable. When I said to Roxy & Zach who should i run London for?  they both said "the charity that Sophie & Kiera's mummy, Jo, supported' and so my decision was made.

Running a marathon is tough going & running through winter even tougher. I have had some crappy days (literally) and those long runs have proven dull and painful at times BUT I have had some amazing support from my family & friends - from the yawning Unicorn & Penguin cheerleader, logistics, running partners & lots of motivational texts and calls, as well as a great home support team who have had to put up with a cranky mum & wife! Thanks to those that got me into it & to those that got me through it.

I am really proud to be running for Josie's Dragonfly Trust & I hope you can make me a little be prouder by supporting me, however little , however much and donating to this special charity.
