On the 15th May 2012 a beautiful little boy came into this world, however he had a very difficult start to life as he had meningitis diagnosed at only 8 days old, this was successfully treated and all seemed ok to begin with but over the next few months he “just wasn’t right” and at the tender age of 6 months he was admitted to our local hospital and treated for severe dehydration (he had suffered with reflux since about 8 weeks old).

However this was only the start of it and we were transferred to neurology ward at John Radcliff Children’s Hospital in Oxford where he was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus “water on the brain” which was caused by the meningitis. He had two brain operations in the space of 3 days and it has made the world of difference to him as well as our little family!

SHINE Charity supports people and their familes living with Hydrocephalus and or spina bifada. They have been absolutely fantastic in supporting us with just a listening ear and information and this is why I'm trying to raise money for them by having a birthday tea party for our son; however we have more than enough toys so therefore I'm asking that you donate the money to SHINE so they can continue their great work please!
