Story

Over the last 10 years my husband and our father Vinny has battled Scleroderma & Raynaud's disease - a rare chronic disease of the immune system, blood vessels and connective tissue. This is a disease that has the ability to affect every organ in the body, including the skin, heart, lungs, and kidneys. Whilst 2.5 million people worldwide suffer from this debilitating disease, there has not been enough research to find a cure to help people like my husband and our father.

He was an active man who played football twice a week, ran multiple businesses, and always sang at the top of his voice. He very quickly became dependent on oxygen cylinders to help him undertake the most simple activities we all take for granted. One by one, everything was taken away from him, the ability to drive, to walk, and even to breathe. In his last years he was confined to his bed, living as a prisoner in his own body.

His will and internal strength fought the disease and won, but unfortunately his body did not; we have lost a husband and a father too soon. We have therefore created this page in the hope that your generous donation helps Scleroderma & Raynaud’s UK (SRUK) find a cure.

Whilst we are mourning the loss of the greatest man we knew, we will have some comfort knowing through him that someone else may have the opportunity to beat this horrible disease and win.

Thank you,

Anjna, Rahul & Elisha
