Story
I will be running (or trying to run!) in memory of my lovely Grandpa, who sadly died from this horrid disease in 2015. Absolutely no idea how to run 26.2 miles tbh. But I’m going to try my best!
Please read my story below.

My Grandpa very sadly passed away in 2015 due to pancreatic cancer. It went unnoticed for a while because my Grandpa had been so busy caring for my Grandma who was, at the time, recovering from a brain haemorrhage. Fortunately my Grandma pulled through but just as she was getting better, my Grandpa took a turn for the worse.
Initially everyone put it down to worry and stress but he later got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It was so awful to see him go downhill so quickly. I always remember him being such a funny, strong man, full of life. But the final time I saw him, he was not the man I remembered. He hated us seeing him like that.
We all still miss him so much, especially my Grandma. I have never seen two older people still so much in love than the two of them and it breaks my heart when she tells me how much she misses him.
I have chosen to run the London Marathon for Pancreatic Cancer UK in order to help with the research to try and find a way to treat this awful disease. Pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates out of all the cancers and this needs to change. Raising money for research is crucial to make this happen.
Thank you all so much for your ongoing support. It means the world to me and helps so much to keep my motivation going through these long cold, wet training runs. xxxx
