In low- and middle-income countries fewer than 1 in 10 children with cancer are diagnosed, treated or given pain relief. World Child Cancer improves cancer care for some of the world’s poorest children by creating international twinning partnerships between medics hospitals and parent support groups

Story

Thanks for visiting our JustGiving Page!

The five of us have decided to run the London Royal Parks Half Marathon on the 11th of October. We're running for World Child Cancer, who do extraordinary work providing care for children suffering from cancer in the third world: the treatments they provide would be routine in the west, and they're relatively inexpensive, but their provision can raise survival rates from less than 10% to as high as 50-60%. For more information on this amazing charity, have a look at www.worldchildcancer.org.

We've all put ourselves through several months of all-weather training in various camps around Europe - and through some rigorous carb-loading - and have now set an ambitious fundraising target because we really believe in the work that WCC do.

Tom is going to try to drag his body around the 13.11-mile course in under 1:30. He doesn't quite think he'll make it, for every minute he scores over that time, he will match 1% of every donation we receive. That means if we hit our £10,000 target and he collapses over the line at 1:40 he'll put in an extra £1,000.

Any donation will be sent by JustGiving directly to World Child Cancer, and your details will not be sold on to any third party. Anything you can give will be gratefully received.

With thanks and love,

M, E, L, T and S. xx
