Back in November 2018 I auditioned for London Children's Ballet, along with several hundred other children, for a chance to be part of a professional ballet production. I was lucky enough to be one of the 60 successful children that will perform in Noel Streatfield's original production of Ballet Shoes at Sadler's Wells' Peacock Theatre, in the West End, on July 4th-7th 2019! Eeek!

One of the reasons so many children audition for this opportunity is because it is totally free! This is extremely rare in the expensive world of ballet!  It actually costs  between £3000-£4000 per performer to put on this show. Gulp. London's Children Ballet give children, who wouldn't normally be able to afford to take part in such a production, an opportunity to do just that. How wonderful is that? ! 

As part of the production all performers have been tasked with raising a minimum of £100 for the charity, although we would love to raise a lot more! It is 30 miles from my house to the theatre so I will be running a mile a day for a month to represent this distance starting 1st April 2019. 

Whilst doing this run I want to raise the profile of boys in ballet, which has always been an issue close to my heart, so,  as a bit of fun, I will also be running in a tutu! Hopefully this will raise awareness and encourage more boys to take up dance if that’s what their hearts desire!
