Every year, WISH NE nominate a selected charity closely linked to our values and mission to fundraise for at our annual IWD event.

This year, our event is somewhat different; as are most - and we have had to take our event, and fundraising virtual.

WISH NE Board Members are starting the fundraising challenge, by  choosing to take on the #challenge to walk, cycle or run the length of every local authority in the North East highlighting the negative impact Covid has had on victims of domestic abuse across our region.

Since 1974, Women's Aid has created a national network supporting women and children escaping violence. Rooted in the women's movement, they're run by women, for women. Over the years, they've achieve a huge amount: campaigning for better protection for survivors, and raising awareness of the sexism that allows domestic abuse to be minimised, ignored, and misunderstood.
