Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

At Abingdon, we have embraced the 'Waitrose Way' which was launched by the business in 2011. Each branch was asked to come up with promises to support one of the strands of the Waitrose Way, and so at Abingdon 'The Waitrose Weigh' was born, to help Partners get fit and healthy and raise some money for charity as well.

The partners involved have been weighing-in weekly since the beginning of July - as a group they are aiming to lose 177kg between them! They have currently lost 11% of this amount, so there is some way for them to go.. they need some encouragement!

In addition, 23 Partners have signed up to run the Reading Half Marathon on 1st April 2012:

Mark B, Gen, Emily, Carol M, Tom R, Dobbo and Jayne H will be running the full half marathon (13.1 miles). Giving them a run for their money will be: Tracey, Anna, Ali S, Gill N, Rachel, Jo S, Katy, Claire W, Shai, Tim, Claire B, Myles, Jo M, Becky H, Sharon B and Philippe, who are forming teams of 4 to compete in the Reading Corporate Relay challenge, running just over 3 miles each.

Running is new to many of the Partners mentioned above, and they will need commitment and determination to complete their training and the course on the day. Who will win? That is the biggest question.....!

Partners voted recently to take part in the Waitrose Weigh to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and also the Stoke Mandeville Cancer Care Unit. Your support is much appreciated by everyone taking part.
