Story

Wakefield Cathedral are pleased to have signed up to the Wakefield Community Foundation 'Challenge 25' Campaign, aiming to raise as much money as possible between 01-25 November in the fight against Fuel Poverty in the local area.

We will be undertaking a number of fundraising activities over this period including:

“Pay It Forward” – anyone visiting our Cathedral Kitchen over these days will have the opportunity to round their bill up to the nearest pound, with the extra pennies raised going towards this fund.

Sam’s family and friends raffle – our Income & Funding Manager Sam Heritage is hosting a raffle amongst her friends and family, with all proceeds going towards our total. If you’d like to do something similar with your circle of friends why not give it a go and see how much you can raise too!

Gillian’s 25,000 steps in a day – our Education Outreach Officer Gillian Bunn will be taking on the mammoth task of walking 25,000 steps in a day, raising sponsorship for this great cause. If you’d like to sponsor Gillian please do contribute via this page.

Simon’s reading of the Psalms – there are a total of 150 psalms and Dean Simon will be undertaking them all over the 25 day period, donating £2.50 for every multiple of six he reads. If anyone would like to sponsor Simon (or donate £12.50 to round him up to his £75 total) that would be great!

Once again thank you to everyone who is supporting us, in turn supporting local families and tackling fuel poverty across our district this winter.
