Hadrian's Wall Trek · 12 August 2012
So, following the Scottish Highland Adventure of 2010 and the lovely 45 mile Isle of Man walk in 2011, i've realised that my Achilles tendonitus has now healed (pun intended) and my feet look human again which obviously means it must be time to do another charity event!
This year I'm walking the toughest part of Hadrian's wall for Help for Heroes on August 12th (that's c.26 miles hard slog). The trek starts at 7am in the morning so i'll have to set off at some ungodly hour to get myself up to the start point for then - this will be an effort in itself :)
I appreciate this isn't climbing Everest or doing some crazy tough trail in Peru (I wish) but it's for a good cause as I think anyone that risks their life as part of their job is a hero and in this particular instance the money raised will go towards helping those service men and women that have been badly injured / wounded to help them rebuild their lives.
I'm doing this because I'm thankful to them and because I hope it does a bit of good.
If you could spare a couple of quid in support I will be most grateful!
Thank you!
