Welcome to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Joseph, Ware. Located within the Diocese of Westminster, the church aims to reinforce the Roman Catholic faith in the small market town of Ware and its surrounding villages.

Story

Back in 1999 my heart stopped whilst I was celebrating Mass in Wormwood Scrubbs Prison, where I was Chaplain, and it stopped again when I was on the Cardiac Care ward in Hammersmith Hospital. Fortunately for me, thanks to chaplaincy staff and hospital staff I was revived.

Everyone knows how much I enjoy chocolate, sweets, biscuits and cakes and on a number of occasions my weight has ' spiraled'.

One of the doctors in Hammersmith Hospital told me that if I lost 2 - 3 stone then my life could be prolonged by up to ten years.

At the end of last year my weight spiraled again and my local doctor, here in Ware, has also suggested that I lose weight. So I am trying, because I hope in a few years time to be able to enjoy my retirement.

I thought that the best incentive to ensure that I don't stray from my healthy living was to do a sponsored diet to raise money to pay off some of the the £200,000 debt that the parish will have with the building of our new Parish Centre.

Please donate and thank you for reading my story.
