Story
In 2003 members of the International Association For Suicide Prevention (IASP) began, in conjunction with the World Health Organisation (WHO) marking the 10th of September as World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD).
It has been tremendously important in the process of reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, though anyone who has ever felt the effects of mental health issues will know that these are with you 365 days of the year. As someone who knows this first hand, I have decided that this year I will mark this by cycling 365Km as part of the IASP campaign for WSPD to "Cycle Around The Globe".
Why Km you might ask? Well I started putting in the mileage during a trip to Ghent in Belgium last week, where everything is in Kms. I will be completing the 365 this week by cycling to some of the places around my home in South Wales that bring me peace and happiness on a day to day basis.
I would be thrilled if you would consider contributing to this, my first foray into the world of JustGiving, so that any funds raised might go to help suicide prevention efforts in the future.
With Love and Thanks, for all your support both here and personally,
