Dig out your Christmas jumper, festive earrings or just wear your favourite comfy clothes around the office on Friday 11th December to help raise much needed funds for cancer research at Warwick.

Every gift makes a difference, and we’ve loved hearing from people who are running bake sales, or giving a donation instead of sending office Christmas cards this year.

With over one in three people being diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes, Warwick's research has the chance to save lives in the future and help those being treated now as well. Every person you spot wearing festive, glamorous or comfy clothes to work on December 11th is supporting the Warwick Cancer Research Centre and the following research:

• Professor Francis Levi is testing the optimal time of day to deliver chemotherapy based on his work on circadian rhythms. The result? Patients receiving treatment at night have fewer reactions and better outcomes.
• Professor Peter Sadler is making treatments more focused and targeted; finding ways to make drugs harmless until they enter the cancer cells themselves. The result? New drugs from metals like ruthenium and osmium, which have shown incredibly promising results.
• Professor Annie Young is trialling rehabilitation programmes for people living beyond cancer diagnosis. The result? Recommendations to the NHS to help cancer ‘survivors’ stay well physically, mentally and emotionally.

So dress festive, glamorous or comfy on Friday 11th December to get involved and raise money for a worthy cause taking place right here on campus!
