“Whosoever digs a well will receive reward for that from Allah on the Day of Judgement when anyone amongst jinn, men and birds drink from it” – Bukhari & Muslim
Jazakumullahu khairan.
Deepwater wells provide their users with waters for years and years. In rural areas they are a lifeline for the inhabitants as they may be the only source of potable water.
When Ummah Welfare Trust installs a well, users are trained on how to maintain them and keep the water supply clean and free of pollutants.
Providing water in this way is a very good way of offering a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) as the donor can expect to reap Allah's blessings for as long as the well supplies water.

We will all die sooner or later nobody knows when his time will come so make sure you have accomplished something for people to remember you by.
We will embark upon the inevitable journey, a reality which awaits us all. There is no denying the fact that one day we too will be alone in our graves, wishing we could ransom everything we had for a chance to earn Allah’s forgiveness.
The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who will pray for him.” [Narrated by Muslim, 3084]
Imagine how desperate you would be for a chance to return to the world and earn just one good deed. But your time will be up, and there will be no return. One of the only things that can help you is Sadaqah Jariah (ongoing charity).
Building a water well is a form of ongoing charity, because the charity doesn't stop as soon as the well is built – the charity is continuous and ongoing each time the well is used. In countries where thousands of people are dying of thirst, and are desperate enough to drink from dangerous disease-ridden puddles, imagine how precious each drop of clean water the well provides will be to them. Every time the well is used, the reward for providing clean water will be given to all of us, Bi'idhnillah. Imagine how many lives the well could save.
“..and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind…” [Surah al-Maa'idah (5:32)]
Subhan'Allah. The reward for saving just one life is so immense, imagine how many lives a water well could save. In sha Allah.
One day we too will be in our graves. This is your chance to make a difference, to help those people in desperate need of water. Don’t let this opportunity to partake in this good act pass you by, hasten to this good deed.
“They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.” [Surah Al-Imran (3:114)]
We must try to grab this opportunity In sha Allah, because we don’t know when we will get another chance to earn good deeds and forgiveness. As we have seen, death comes without warning, and this could easily be our last opportunity.
So In sha Allah let us hasten towards this good deed, with the intention of giving Sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of yourself, family members and friends, may Allah accept your donations and reward you, Ameen.
