Story

I’ve reversed diabetes this last few months and lost lots of weight. I’ve improved my fitness no end. But big or small I’ve always loved swimming and have swam regularly for years.

I’ve not worn a wetsuit since I was a teenager. It makes me wince to think about it. I’ve chosen a distance of two miles. I can only do breaststroke by the way. Oh.

I love the Lake District and I love The Buddy Bag Foundation for whom I’ve been an ambassador for around a year.

By backing me to take on this wild swimming challenge, please know every penny raised will go to children facing a terrifying and uncertain future and bring hope to a traumatised parent escaping domestic violence.

BBF say:

Children are often fleeing a violent situation, and have to leave home quickly, without chance to collect basic items. . These children arrive in emergency accommodation with just the clothes they're wearing. Our mission is to make a difference to the children who have to live through this traumatic experience. We provide each child with a Buddy Bag we can help to restore a sense of safety and security.
