....The Huddersfield Town Foundation is a registered charity, based at HTAFC. The vision is to make a difference to the lives of children and young people living within the community. Encompassing health and nutrition via the Early Kick Off Breakfast Club to various life-changing initiatives.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in aid of Pedals for Pounds 10.

On this years ride we will be cycling approximately 313 miles across Belgium and the Netherlands then back to Huddersfield to raise, funds, awareness and to support local charities who wouldn't be able to provide their vital services without private support. 

This year, in the 10th year of Pedals for Pounds, the fundraising will be in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance; Huddersfield Town Foundation's to support their Breakfast Clubs for underprivileged children; Kirkwood Hospice who seek to improve the lives of people with incurable conditions; and, Ruddi's Retreat which provides families with seriously ill children the ability to have holiday respite. 

Our route will see us completing the following:

Tuesday 30 April : 71miles from Zeebrugge to Antwerp

Wednesday 1 May : 107miles from Antwerp to Amsterdam 

Thursday 2 May : 55 miles from Amsterdam to Rotterdam

Friday 3 May : 80 miles from Hull to Huddersfield



The Charities...

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance will receive 50% of the funds raised and will use its share of the money to help fund the exceptional work they do. It costs the independent charity £12,000 a day to provide their 24/7 lifesaving rapid emergency service to the five million people across the Yorkshire region each day.

The other half of funds raised will be split equally between the following three charities: 

Kirkwood Hospice provides specialist care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees with advanced, progressive illnesses at any time from diagnosis to the end of life, respecting their individual needs and wishes. Care and support is also provided for their family members, friends and carers, both during the illness and after death. Through education, training and partnership with others, the Hospice improves care for everyone affected by a life-limiting illness. 

Ruddi's Retreat aim to help families with seriously ill children to have access to a holiday home for free! We want to help families with young children suffering from the effects and after effects of Cancer Treatment, Life Limiting Illnesses or Bereavement to enjoy a family holiday together with minimal financial cost and maximum fun!

Huddersfield Towns Foundation Supplying breakfasts to schools across Yorkshire but also giving the chance for pupils to learn life skills and be mentored!
