On the 09-09-06 my daughter Erin was born.At two days old we were told Erin had co-arctation of the Aeorta. At 5 days old she had here first heart operation to repair the co-arctation. During these early days it was very stressful and a lot of information to take in from medical teams.The BHF provided cardiac liason nurses at Glenfield Childrens heart unit. The Cadiac liason nurses help and support was invalueable to Erin and my Family. Their support is still available when required. 

Slowly Erin gained enough weight for her second heart operation at 8 months old. To repair a large hole and divide a valve into two. This condition is known as a complete AVSD ( A trio ventricular septal defect).

Erin is now 7 1/2 years old . Currently she has a yearly checkup at Glenfield hospital and thankfully is doing well at this time . There is always a possibility further treatment will be required in the future.

I have raised over 2000 pounds for the BHF during two previous charity bike rides in 2009 and 2011.

I want to try to raise as much money as possible, so the BHF can continue their great work in research and supporting other heart children and their families by providing cardiac liason nurses now and in the future.
