Both of us feel strongly that whilst this day is to celebrate our wedding and hopefully provide wonderful memories for years to come for us all, at the same time its a fantastic opportunity for us all to remember how lucky we have all been to be experiencing this gift of life as whom we are, where we are and when we are on this day.

What would mean a great deal to us is that instead of any gifts you might have thoughtfully wanted to present to us, if you could each find it in your hearts instead to dig deep and give back to a local London charity we have selected which we believe represents a cause that means a great deal to us.

The charity we have chosen is 'Trees for Cities' - http://www.treesforcities.org

Trees for Cities are a UK charity that focuses on environmental projects to increase the number of trees in our Cities with large scale planting programs.

To us trees are possibly the most beautiful objects on this planet, not just for the life and air we breathe but also in how they transform our landscape and cities into places that anchor our roots so powerfully in the places that we choose to live and visit.

London is one of the most polluted cities in Europe and although planting more much needed trees to help tackle the high levels of CO2 is just a small part of the puzzle, its an important and key part of us trying to reclaim our capital city from the grip of pollution. The well being of the air quality and life in London affects nearly all of us either directly or indirectly such is the part it plays in our own economy but globally as well.

We want to aim high and raise £5,000 on the day for this fabulous charity - if each of us can find it in our hearts to donate £25+ we can hit this target and maybe even surpass it. Down the line as a bonus we can also then go and experience the trees and the project that directly benefitted from our donations, and it's not often you get to do that with a donation you make!
