We provide end of life care to help our patients across Dorset

Story

The Weldmar Cancer Hospice URGENTLY needs your help, more now than ever before.

So please see below for ideas for personal challenges or please just donate - any amount will make a big difference.

Two thirds of it's normal fundraising income has dried up. Its 26 shops are closed & all events/activities cancelled. Please help us to ensure Weldmar can continue to provide its vital specialist care.

Please support Weldmar now because:

  • It costs £18,000 a day to keep running.
  • All their care is free & reliant on public donations.
  • Over 2,800 people benefit each year from their care & support.
  • They employ nurses, doctors, therapists, social workers, and offer counselling services.
  • It is an independent charity only working in Dorset with 79% of its funds raised through public donations.
  • They provide day services at Trimar Hospice Weymouth & the Inpatient Unit in Dorchester, Westminster Memorial Hospital in Shaftesbury, and in Blandford and Bridport Community Hospitals.
  • Services also include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, chaplaincy, complementary therapy and creative arts, together with child and family support and bereavement care.
  • The Weldmar Community Nurses visit patients at home, in care homes and in community hospitals.
  • They provide a 24/7 Advice Line staffed by clinical professionals.
  • They are very concerned they will not be able to continue this for future generations.
