Story
I did it!! I can honestly say that I enjoyed every minute of it but I still wouldn't do it again! I finished in 5 hours and 3 minutes, so I was never going to break any speed records but i'm happy that I managed to get round and enjoy it so much and I did indeed cross the line smiling!
Thanks again for all your support, you've all been fantastic ! xxx
*******************Marathon Update - 2 days to go*****************************
Well, this is it! By this time on Sunday it will all be over - if it isn't, something's gone seriously wrong!!
I'm feeling really excited and really nervous at the same time, which i'm sure is perfectly normal. I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for their support, you have all been fantastic and I really hope I can now do my bit and cross that finish line smiling! Whatever happens, I can guarantee you all that I will give it 110%. Look out for me on Sunday, i'll be wearing an illuminous pink vest and a white baseball cap, my running number is 45349.

*******************Marathon Update - 5 weeks to go***************************
So far so good!! I'm where I should be on my training plan and feeling hopeful of achieving my goal of finishing the marathon! I am running in the Reading half marathon this Sunday, as part of my preparation, and will let you all know how I get on - I'm hoping to finish and feel like I could run it all again!!
I would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who has supported me and made a donation - you've been fantastic!
Wendy is running the London Marathon!
I had set myself the goal of running the London Marathon by the time I hit 40. Well, the time has come, on 25th April I will be running my first marathon (and probably last!) aged 38.
I will be running for a local charity called Relateen who give free counselling to children affected by the breakdown of their parents relationship. The main source of funding for this charity comes from the sponsorship they receive from their runners taking part in the marathon. This is where you come in - I have pledged to raise £1000 in sponsorship and would be delighted if you could help me with a donation towards this goal.
With a little over 2 months to go, I am now running 25 miles a week, all I need to do now is squash this into 1 day!
I will keep you updated with my progress and thank you very much for your support.
