Story
In November of 2022 I am embarking on one of the toughest challenges I have ever done so far in my life by cycling from coast to coast in Costa Rica, a distance of just under 500km.
After a 3 stone weight gain and a double hip replacement, I wanted to get back into the shape I had been in before the hip problems. I have been working hard since January 2021 with my various forms of training and dieting and now in March 2022 I am 2 stone lighter and fully recovered from the operations and ready to “go for it”. I wanted to challenge myself to the toughest thing I could find and at the same time to do something I love to do which is bike riding.
I found this Costa Rican charity bike ride that ticked all those boxes,
and it will be involving the toughest conditions I could find, rain forest, volcanoes, humidity, and mountains. Am I crazy ? No, I don’t think so 😊, I get to see some fantastic sights and do
something I will never probably do again, whilst visiting one of the most amazing places on the planet whilst at the same time testing my strength and endurance to the limit.
So, I wanted to support a charity connected to something I love, and that is dogs. I found Medical Detection Dogs and straight away I thought, yes, I love what they are achieving and they support humans with their amazing sense of smell, to function and survive with
certain challenges and illnesses they face in life.
Of course I have set myself a target to achieve on the fundraising and this page is where you can make a donation, no matter how small, to the Medical Detection Dogs, all is greatly appreciated for sure.
Just follow the links provided and make your donation, leave me a message or donate anonymously.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
