My husband and I lost our very precious IVF baby, Matilda Rose on 20th April 2010. She died during an emergency delivery, she was stillborn. There were things that could have been done differently that would have meant she could have lived. My husband and I have now had five rounds of IVF and are preparing for IVF number six. As well as losing Matilda, we have had two miscarriages at eight weeks.
I am raising money for The Genesis Research Trust because their research is not only helping to improve IVF techniques, enabling people like my husband and I to conceive the families they desperately want, but their research into stillbirth and the causes of stillbirth will ensure that other couples do not suffer in the way we have, and that other babies are not denied their lives. Their research into miscarriage and particularly recurrent miscarriage might mean that people like us could find causes for those losses and won't have to suffer the trauma of baby loss.
This is a charity that is actively doing something to prevent loss, and aid conception. I know couples that have benefitted directly by Genesis' research into PGD testing to prevent hereditary genetic problems, allowing couples to conceive safely.
Please support me as a get my big bum into gear and train towards this 10k by donating to Genesis.
Thank you!
