Story
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
What a day - just amazing, tough but absolutely incredible.
Thank you to Hayley who has supported me all the way through this and has had to put up with me running 5 days a week, wrecking dinner on a regular basis, having to sleep with a pillow under my feet for most of the last six months and being seen around Ashford by our friend's dressed a a flourecent condom.
Thank you to Joseph and Mollie who have endured a Dad less winter due to being somewhere in the dark, and Joseph for being my support crew on long runs.
Thank you to Mum, Dad, Colin, Maggie, Ross and Sarah for coming to support me on the day - you will never know just how much seeing you on the run helped (even if I could not talk!!!)
Thank you to Nan who at an age greater than she would like me to put has been tacking my sponsor forms everywhere she went and has been the single biggest fundraiser with over £200 - I know Grandad was watching.
Thank you for all the Travelodge Hotels in the South East who had collection tins on their receptions and raised over £750 and have had to put up with me talking about the marathon for an age.
And finally....
Thank you everyone who has donated, text, emailed and spoken to me - the support i have recieved was truely amazing thank you!!!
As you know by now I have elected to run the Virgin London Marathon in 2010, so while I am doing this I thought that i would try and raise a few quid.
Help for heros www.helpforheroes.org.uk the charity that looks after wounded men and women that serve in the Armed Forces.
As the weeks and months go on I will add where I am up to and what I am doing, if you could spare a few quid for this great cause I would be grateful.
Thanks!!!

Training is due to start on the 9th of November!!! My 24 week plan should see me right for the Marathon in April next year, I will update you all with how it is going, at the moment Flu means its not going at all!!! If anyone wishes to join me in training then let me know, would be great to have a someone to run with now and then.
Training has been going well, but the snow has pushed me into the gym, which has given me massive blood blisters on my feet (I was going to take pictures, but thought this was unnecessary), i am looking forward to the day where this isn't bloody hard work!!!
Now into February and counting down the weeks, I am up to 40 miles a week and have completed 12, 14 and 18 miles, 18 did not feel too bad. I have been trying different refueling techniques and feel quite comfortable running and drinking for a chnage. Pace is now stable on the long runs at around 9mins 10/20, this will get me under the 4 hour mark whihc would be great, but i am a bit concerned that the slow start will cost me!!
Have just a place for the Silverstone half marathon on 14th March, which is Mother's Day and my Mum's birthday, so thank you for the understanding of Hay and Mum for having me trudge around a racing circuit.
I have another cold - this my 4th cold this winter and I am getting bored!!!!
Silverstone completed, I was not very well so was tough, but made it round which is the main thing - lots of learnings as I went out far too quickly (at half way i was on target for a 1 hr 30 min finish!!!). Get your own pace and stick with it - Thanks to Ross and Sarah for coming to watch and the for the place!!!
Thank you to Hay, Joseph and Mollie for getting up early and braving the cold to support me.
21 miles completed!!!!
Decided to end the run two plus miles from home so I could walk and cool down so my legs would recover - got a mile and my legs hurt so much i have to lay on the ground with my feet in the air against the post box and then the neighbours drove past and gave me a lift home!!!! Thank you Angie and Vince.
Thank you to Joe and Hay for helping me get my re-fueling sorted (in the rain!!!)
