Ehlers-Danlos Support UK improves quality of life for people living with the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS). We work across the UK to support, advise and inform those living with the condition and the medical professionals working with them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Kelly, Clare and Scott are walking the West Highland Way in support of Ehlers-Danlos Support UK. Its a 96 mile trek from Milngavie, Glasgow to Fort William in the West Highlands, walking along side lochs, through forests and open moors whilst surrounded by mountains and spectacular scenery.

Those of you who know Kelly will know that her daughter Katie has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. With that comes another condition called Autonomic Dysfunction which effects everything from heart rate, respiration and a multitude of other symptoms. Ehlers Danlos Support Group are a fantastic group that provide day to day support for sufferers and their families. The pain that people with EDS live with is life changing and debilitating and can also be life threatening. EDS Support Group also help Medical Professionals to understand this rare illness. The information provided helps patients with EDS to access the right treatments and be given the right assistance in emergency rooms.

The support in which EDS Support Group have given Katie and Kelly's family has been fantastic so by walking the West Highland Way, it will give us the chance to not only raise some well deserved money for them, but to also raise awareness of this invisible disorder.

Any donation you can make will go a long way to help and will be appreciated so much not just by the EDS Support Group, but also us too.
