Walk the Wight 2011 · 15 May 2011 ·

Mountbatten is the Isle of Wight's only hospice and is known for innovation across the UK and beyond. We provide expert medical, nursing and domiciliary end of life care and bereavement support to people in their own homes, including care homes, in our Newport building and in the local hospital.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This May we are taking part in the annual 'Walk the Wight'. Walk the Wight is a sponsored 26.5 mile walk across the breadth of the Isle of Wight, raising money for the Island’s own Hospice which cares for over 800 terminally ill patients every year.

As many of you will already know, we're all big fans of the Island and its spectacular beauty. We may have bitten off more than we can chew, but a few months ago, we thought it would be a good idea to see ALL of the island in  one day, and so we're walking a ruddy great marathon across it.

Ill-advised though it may be, the walk will hopefully allow us to raise lots of money for a very worthy charity, and we appreciate any donation you can make, no matter how small

So far the trainig has cost us four dodgy hips, two dodgy knees and three monstrous blisters, so please dig deep :-D

Many thanks,

Al, Amy, Laura and Lindsay
