Hi, I am Wilf and I am currently rocking thick long blonde hair which I have decided somebody else might appreciate more! I have seen my mum lose all her hair to chemotherapy and so understand the blow to self confidence during such a hard time but still I can't imagine losing all of my hair unexpectedly to an illness... so while mine can just regrow, I hope another child can enjoy the locks I've had chopped off (in wig form)! 

I have also recently been receiving transphobic stick at school because of my hair, which has raised my awareness of some of the issues trans people face, so I've decided that all the money I raise with this haircut will be donated to Mermaids uk, which is a charity "passionate about supporting children, young people, and their families to achieve a happier life in the face of great adversity. We work to raise awareness about gender nonconformity in children and young people amongst professionals and the general public. We campaign for the recognition of gender dysphoria in young people and lobby for improvements in professional services." I am not trans, so I can't imagine the difficulty of trying to transition or feeling like I don't fit in to the gender I am expected to, in an environment which can be so unaccepting... so that is why I have chosen this charity.
