Story
Thanks our taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Well it's all over now. 7 days of camping on rocky ground, temperatures of -16 C. Baby wipes became our new best friends. 7 days without a wash, at times so cold you didn't want to change clothes! Great comarardery within our team of 12 and an amazing leader Jon Gupta. The porters nicknamed us king William and queen Jo, they sang songs to encourage us as we slumped.
WE DID IT! The summit day started at midnight, head torches in place we took one step at a time through the dark hours of the night, drinking water froze, as did energy bars. We were rewarded with the most stunning moon as it rose and then at sunrise with the most amazing sunrise we have ever seen including being able to see the curvature of the earth. More importantly a hot sweet cup of tea.
Finally after much exhaustion we reached the summit. WE'VE DONE IT!! and despite the very sore legs and sheer exhaustion we are elated not only at our achievement but at yours with us. Thank for all who have so generously given.
For those who are still considering it please donate to this very neglected yet worthy and important cause
With our love
