As many of you will know, I am proud to be the Chairman of Scannappeal, a local charity that has been raising money to buy state of the art medical equipment for the hospitals across Buckinghamshire.  

On 14 July 2019 I will join a team of cyclists taking on a 100km route around the Chilterns and I have been informed the route is beautifully challenging!!  The team is raising money to support our latest appeal, 'The Bucks MRI Appeal', to purchase two world class MRI scanners.

The facts:

• 22,000 local patients have an MRI scan at Stoke Mandeville or Wycombe Hospital every year.
• Bucks will be the first in the UK to have scanners of this kind.
• The new scanners will be safer and the patient experience will be greatly improved due to the sound, size and speed of the scanner.
• State of the art imaging techniques are enabled for stroke, cardiac, breast, brain and spine patients as well as whole body cancer imaging.
