Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. We believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving our vision

Story

Thank you so much for visiting my page.

In April 2016, I will be running the Marathon des Sables for Mencap; a 156 mile Saharan ultra marathon covering the total of 6 marathons in 5 days, in temperatures often in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. For obvious reasons the MDS is more commonly known as the  “Toughest Footrace on Earth.”

For more information on what I will be putting myself through over my birthday please visit:

Now my reason for agreeing to take part in this year's MDS is to raise money for Mencap. Mencap aims to provide greater equality for people with learning disabilities. The charity works tirelessly to change laws, constantly challenge prejudice and support those who have disabilities to live their lives as they choose.

I am determined to raise £5000 for Mencap through your generous support.

In return for parting with your hard earned money not only can I promise you the sense fulfilment having supporting an incredible cause but additionally I'll throw-in for free, the pleasure that you have sentenced me to water rationing, sandstorms, blisters, sunburn and the soles of my trainers melting.

I'd be so grateful if you could donate anything and help me on my way to raising money for an invaluable and far-reaching charity.

Please visit Mencap's website to understand the amazing work your money will be contributing towards:

Thank you all in advance,
