I was very privileged to carry The Olymic Flame on the 23rd May in Chippenham & the moment I received the flame I felt as if my life had gone full circle. There are 8000 circles on the Torch & I am one of those circles. That moment the flame was passed on to me was a very poignant one for me. The sun was shining; not a cloud in the sky & suddenly realised that the flame was now in my hands. The day was an emotional one & the smiles of the children were a joy to see. My tears were of joy but also of sadness as I remembered the past.

When I was 6 years old my Dad was a fireman & unfortunately died in a large Whisky Bond Blaze in Glasgow & I really empathise with Winston's Wish in their endeavours to help children who have been placed in a similar sitauation. So far I have raised £700 through having photographs taken with the Olympic Torch. It is not enough!

The Olympics only comes around every four years & the athletes show great Commiitment Determination & Fortitude to drive themselves to endeavour to be best athlete in the Planet  at a single moment in time. It is no wonder they cry or do silly things at that moment (Mobot!!!!!!!!!!)

Personally I have set my goal for many years to try to 'Make a Difference' & I hope in my small way I am doing this. I am the founder of Wotton Hockey Club where we now have two Men's teams two Women's teams & junior sides even although the nearest hockey facilty available is 11 miles away. One day just one day we may have our own facility in Wotton. I have coached children for 30 years in hockey & will do more in the future.

 

Apart from taking photographs I am looking to organise a Bar B Q & possibly a Dinner or Golf Day with a promises auction so lots to do but the most important thing for me is toshare my story & for you to make a donation. So come on please support me as I move on in my journey.
