On June 12th 2017, the day before I was due to leave for New York to take part in the world's longest certified footrace - the Sri Chinmoy Self Transcendence 3,100 Mile race - my wife Elizabeth received news that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer - she had never smoked. Obviously I immediately withdrew from the race and devoted myself entirely to her care.

She died 24 days later. Elizabeth wanted me to continue training/racing and that I will do with renewed vigor in her name. I will also re-double my efforts to raise money for CLAN Cancer Support who supported us all with such love, compassion, sensitivity and professionalism.
