I’m Raising funds to contribute towards the building of the Normandy Memorial for those who sacrificed their lives for us. · 29 August 2019

We have built a permanent British Memorial to the 22,442 men who gave their lives during the D-Day landings and the Battle of Normandy. With your support we can ensure that their sacrifice for our freedom is never forgotten.

Story

After watching the recent 75th D-Day Anniversary I was really moved by the stories of bravery from the veterans that are still with us, and after hearing that there is no permanent memorial I wanted to do something that would be truly fitting to help raise funds.

One of the stand out stories was Harry Billinge a 93 year old veteran (see picture below) who has campaigned all his life and  raised more than £10,000 pounds by collecting on the street everyday in his home town of St Austell in Cornwall and I could not help but be moved to want to help in someway.

I contacted the Normandy Memorial Trust and asked if I could raise funds for them by doing a tandem skydive as this would be a fitting tribute, they were delighted for me to do so.

The purpose for raising funds is to have the names of the soldiers who scarified their lives engraved on the memorial so they and their bravery is never forgotten. It costs £35 pounds for one name to be engraved.

With  your help of a donation, no matter how small, we can add as many of their names and build a Memorial to those who are still with us and the 22,442 who gave up their lives for us as a thank you.
