We raise funds for hedgehog welfare to improve survival rates across the UK

Story

My Uncle Frank, has died.  My Mother, (his sister) wouldn’t like it put so bluntly, but Frank didn’t care for fuss. What he did care for, was dark chocolate, cigarettes, and Hedgehogs.  Thousands of Hedgehogs.

He, and his wife Veronica, along with a team of astonishingly dedicated volunteers created Andrew’s Hedgehog Hospital from nothing.  They rescue, rehabilitate and release these remarkable creatures back into the wild. This is no small thing. The hedgehog population of the UK  is declining at an alarming rate, with a 50% reduction since 2000. Hedgehogs are a vital part of our ecosystem, and heritage and Frank and the team set out to help. When they started, the survival rate was close to 1 in 10, they have developed protocols that have raised that to 7 in 10.

Frank was very good at lots of things - especially fundraising. Now he’s left us, anything you wanted to give to this remarkable endeavor, would be kindly and gratefully received. Thank you.

About the charity

We are a charity in North Lincolnshire which saves hedgehogs, we take in injured or small hedgehogs, or ones that just need care. We medically care for them, feed them, over-winter them and release them locally and into country estate woodlands where they can roam free again.
