Wirral Camp 2020

Wirral Camp 2020 · 24 July 2020
Wirral Camp is an annual holiday camp for disadvantaged children from the Wirral area.
Every year, for over 75 years, Wirral Camp has given 45 children aged 9-11 a summer holiday to Snowdonia for an outdoor activity week. The camp, which is based at an outdoor education centre and run entirely by volunteers, includes a wide range of activities such as canoeing, abseiling, cave exploring, bouldering, gorge walking, arts and crafts, nerf games, pizza making, carnival day and more. The activities are designed to help the children develop new skills, confidence, trust and ultimately to have a brilliant holiday together.
The children who come to camp are disadvantaged and many have never been on holiday before. Some children are currently in care, some are carers for a family member or have lost a parent, some have behavioural or emotional issues in school and others are from low income families. Children leave the camp having learnt new skills, made new friends and the chance to forget the issues they have at home and just have fun!
We rely entirely on volunteers and donations to make this week possible. Anything you can donate will make a huge difference, it costs £311 per child to take them on holiday:
