Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. We at Wymondham Young Farmers have chosen Big C as our charity of the year, and to try and raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause, we have decided to undertake an epic event. Starting in Edinburgh on the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend, we will set out on a 4 seater bike, with the aim to pedal the circa. 400 miles back to Norfolk over 5 days, finishing at the Big C office in Norwich part way through the 6th day. We will be taking part in teams, and looking to cover around 75 to 80 miles per day. Those of you who know the participants, will know that a few of us are allergic to exercise, so please dig deep to give us the added incentive to complete this mammoth task! A little about our chosen charity: " Big C is Norfolk and Waveney’s own cancer charity – completely independent and local. All the support, funding and services we provide are for the people of Norfolk and Waveney and the money raised by this performance will go to help people in your community who are affected by cancer. We at Big C can only continue our work with help from our local donors, and we would like to thank each and every one of them for their help. We are very grateful to Wymondham Young Farmers Club for choosing to fundraise for us. Thank you! We pay for vital cancer fighting equipment and nurses in Norfolk and Waveney, helping specialists diagnose and treat different cancers in better ways than ever before - meaning a higher rate of survival and better quality of life for those with cancer. We also run the Big C Cancer Support and Information Centre, based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The centre is for people with cancer and those who care for them and offers many different types of support to choose from, from counselling and welfare rights advice to head scarf tying and make up lessons. We also offer welfare rights services in Kings Lynn and Great Yarmouth. We also pay for ground-breaking world class research into cancer right here in Norfolk, at the UEA School of Biological Sciences and Medical School. Big C funds progressive and forward-thinking research into many different aspects of cancer, both prevention and treatment. " Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
