Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am trying to raise as much money as I can for the BHF's fight against heart and circulatory disease which is still more likely to kill you than any other serious illness, including cancer. Every two minutes someone has a heart attack in the UK and only half will survive. This means that by the time you read this page at least one person in the UK will have suffered a heart attack.

My husband Martin suffered a heart attack in 2009 whilst taking part in the Plymouth half marathon. Tragically, he did not recover and died eight days later. He was only 49 years old.

I am not a natural cyclist and know the challenge will be a difficult one. Cycling between 7-9 hours each day for six days, on difficult terrain in extremely hot conditions.

So, come with me, in mind if not body and please dig deep and donate as much as you feel able.
