On 26th April our team joined up with Francis Rooney and walked 4 peaks over 15 miles in the beautiful Mourne mountains. The equivalent of walking up and down 350 flights of stairs, in 35,000 steps in typical Irish weather of wind, sun, hale, slight mizzle, low cloud and of course some craic. It was a great personal achievement for the team..and we struggled. You should have seen Diane's face when she had to climb up the face of Binnian on her hands and knees.. Pure fear !!  Mark, Diane, Christina and Grainne all completed this, and we are still speaking!!!  This is our 2015 charity.

Every 5 seconds someone in the world goes blind, and millions of adults and children struggle with the effects of eye conditions.

To help our leader Diane Roberts cousin raise money to secure help for his grandson Caolan who is battling a chronic eye didesase. To support Fight for Sights research into Reis Bucklers Corneal Dystrophy and Genetic Eye Conditions to ensure that everyone suffering form RBCD and other corneal Diseases receive the best treatment possible, as early on in diagnosis as possible.

This event is just part of a series of events..Diane's cousin Francie and his nephew JP, are really going on a real challenge!! This is hard to believe! PLEASE support!! 

Day 1: The start date is wed 24th of June and they cycle the 160 odd miles to Westport. 

Day 2 they will cycle from Westport to Doo Lough and climb Mweelrea the highest mountain in Connaught. The rest of day 2 will be spent cycling as far down as we can towards Killarney. 

Day 3 they will cycle the rest of the way to Killarney and on to Beaufort and on to the start of the Carrauntohil climb. 

Day 4 climb Carrauntohil and then start the cycle to Baltinglas in Wicklow to climb Lugnaquilla, highest in Leinster.

Day 5 finish cycle to Baltinglas and climb the Lug. Then cycle part of the way to Newry.

Day 6 cycle the rest to Newry and on to Newcastle to climb Slieve Donard.. Get back to Donard Park and a celebration!! .
