UNCLE TAKIS' STORY
On 14th October 2013 uncle Takis went into a 10 hour operation to have his voicebox removed. He survived this huge operation but needed a follow-up routine procedure which sadly, snatched him away from us in the early hours of 1st November 2013. He leaves behind his wife, 2 daughters, 1 son, 4 grandchildren, siblings and many many other family and friends.
He lived a selfless life. He was very kind and showed great understanding and forgiveness. He showed great compassion and had the loudest laugh and a secret smile often played on his lips. He was a gentleman and a very loving family man and he will be missed by everyone.
This horrible disease must not continue to take our loved ones away from us. With your donation, the Throat Cancer Foundation can fund more research into understanding how this cancer works, discovering its weaknesses and hopefully (one day), eradicating it completely!!! Until then, it can teach us what it has already learned and support the families of those affected by this unforgiving disease.
WHAT YOU WILL GET IN RETURN FOR YOUR DONATION
Over the next few months, I will begin preparing myself for jumping out of a plane at a height of 12’000 feet. Photo and video evidence of me screaming my head off will be captured. I have NEVER done anything like this in my life but it seems a very small price to pay for a very worthy cause. I am sure my uncle Takis will give me a “high 5” as I hurtle towards the ground at 120 miles per hour :-)
