Story
On Saturday 22nd June, 6 orthopaedic surgeons from Yeovil District Hospital will attempt to complete one the UK's toughest single-day walking challenges - "The Welsh 3000's". Starting at dawn at the foot of Snowdon, the aim is to climb all 15 mountains in Wales over 3000 feet in one day.
The team (Olly Donaldson, Jules Grundy, Matt Hall, Sam Heaton, Ben Lankester and Paul Latimer) are looking forward to this adventure with some trepidation, but it's important to keep mobile and active, especially for us aging orthopaedic surgeons!
With 11,500 feet of uphill climbing over nearly 30 miles, it is likely to take at least 18 hours, and is going to be a massive challenge for us all.
We are raising money towards the Breast Cancer Unit appeal at Yeovil Hospital, which needs to raise £2m to build a dedicated unit. Please help us to raise as much as we can.
It's going to be a tough challenge, but with your support we will have no choice but to keep going!!!
Make sure you follow our preparations and progress on the day by following @yeovilortho or #YeovilOrthoChallenge on twitter and Yeovil Hospital Charity on facebook.
