Story
Thank you for visiting my Partnership Walk & Run 2011 fundraising page.
On Sunday 10th July I will be running 10km in Hyde Park to help flood-affected communities of northern Pakistan to rebuild their lives.
Last time I staggered round in 54:05, hoping to beat that target!
Every Step Counts! All the money I raise this year will support the Aga Khan Development Network’s (AKDN’s) post-flood housing reconstruction efforts in northern Pakistan.
AKDN and its affiliate agencies have been delivering pioneering area development programmes in Pakistan for over 40 years. AKDN’s Pakistan-based agencies, such as the Aga Khan University, and its affiliates such as FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance were amongst the first organisations to deliver humanitarian relief to affected people when the floods struck.
AKDN is now committed to helping families displaced or made homeless by the floods to rebuild their homes and livelihoods. AKDN will work with local families to rebuild homes that are seismically resistant, thermally insulated and positioned on safe terrain.
All costs of this event are have been paid for by kind donations from the Ismaili community. This means that 100% of your sponsorship will go towards rebuilding homes for families in northern Pakistan.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
