Story
In memory of Harpreet Kaur Bains and all those who have tragically lost their battle with Aplastic Anaemia
Today my beautiful sister Harpreet would have turned 30 years old. But sadly, as you may already know, she is not with us and in fact she hasn't been for 9 sad long years.
Harpreet was such a loving, caring and beautiful person - both inside and out. She radiated such an amazing aura and was loved by many, most of all by me. She played so many roles in my life; my older sister, my second mother, my diary and my best friend.
Cruelly she was taken from this world by a serious condition called Aplastic Anaemia. For those of you who are lucky enough not to be familiar with it, this is a blood disorder in which the body's bone marrow doesn't make enough new blood cells. This results in severe health problems and unfortunately in my sister's case it resulted in losing her life. (More information can be found at www.AAT.org.uk)
My intention in creating this page is to raise awareness and as much money as possible for the Aplastic Anaemia Trust, the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to research into Aplastic Anaemia and to support individuals and their families who are suffering from this diagnosis today.
