Tough Mudder South West 2016 · 20 August 2016 ·

We’re an anti-poverty charity & community of food banks, working together to ensure no one in the UK needs a food bank, while providing practical support for people left without enough money. (Please note we're unable to forward funds onto individual food banks, funds raised here go to Trussell)

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This will be my second time participating in Tough mudder. Last year we raised £500 for the earthquake appeal in Nepal. This year I am raising money for a charity a little closer to home.

For those who don't know, Tough Mudder is a 10-12mile run with 20+ obstacles in the way. I will be wading my way through knee high mud, plunging myself into ice cold pools and crawling under barbed wire all in in the name of charity!!

I have decided to choose the charity The Trussel Trust to help stop hunger in the UK.

Thirteen million people live below the poverty line in the UK, with individuals going hungry every day for a range of reasons, from benefit delays to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income.

The Trussell Trust’s 400-strong network of foodbanks  provides a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. In 2015/16, The Trusell Trust gave 1,109,309 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.

The Trussel Trust has Food banks set up all over the UK, with local banks situated in Swindon, Devizes, Malmesbury, Braford-on-Avon and Bath, as well as multiple food banks in Bristol and many many more in London.

Thank you for your donations!
