Story
In FEBRUARY (not september) 2018 I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. I am climbing this mountain for the Alzheimer's society because like many others I have a grandfather with dementia and a grandmother with early Alzheimer's.
I am not only climbing this mountain for my grandparents but I am also climbing it for myself. I am climbing it so I can say I have accomplished something amazing in my life... something I didn't need my bloody maths gcse for (which I never got) and something I can say I achieved on my own.
Although my Grandpappy remembers who I am he is not with it. When I sit with him he tells me how he has just got back from fighting the Germans in the army (just to clarify he was never in the army, he got evacuated as a boy 😂). However I know If my Grandpappy was actually aware and could understand that I was climbing one of the biggest mountains in the world he would be so so proud of me and that is what drives me to achieve this adventure.
Dementia is a cruel disease that needs a cure. Please donate and sponsor me in my climb so we can stop it taking the minds of our loved ones in the future.
Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
