I am a member of Islington boat club and It has given opportunities to many young people for 50 years, including myself to learn new skills out of school including kayaking, learning to drive a narrow boat, canoeing, competitions and kayaking in Pembrokeshire (Wales).

The staff are very supportive and dedicated to helping us learn new skills and sharing their knowledge. I've learnt a lot from instructors which has led me to receive a Jack Petchey award.

Over the past decade boat club funding in Islington has decreased from Islington council. As a result, we are relying on sponsors and fund raising events to stay open. Due to COVID-19 boat club are unable to host fundraising events.

As a result, members of the boat club are taking on new challenges in order to raise money for the club in a different way. Your donation would be much appreciated.
