West Highland Way and Ben Nevis · 6 October 2014

York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity raises funds to help make a positive difference in your local hospital - making patients, relatives and visitors feel better and providing a level of care that is beyond that which NHS funding alone could deliver.

Story

In 2011 four of York Hospital Security Team, Andrew Hamer, Darren Miller, Dave Harrer and Norman Elliott successfully completed the Yorkshire three peaks.

In 2012 the same four completed the National three peaks within 24hrs, these events raised combined a total of nearly £3000 for York Hospital Cancer Care Centre.

In October of this year the same four and a new member, Ashley Bellwood, will attempt the daunting task of completing the West Highland Way Walk, a 96 mile trek across the Scottish Highlands a task which most people complete in 7-10 days in just 3, averaging 32 miles a day. To top of this walk on the forth day the group will conquer Ben Nevis, the UK's tallest Mountain towering up at 1,344 metres (4,408ft)
