York Bariatric Support Group Abseil · 1 July 2012

York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity raises funds to help make a positive difference in your local hospital - making patients, relatives and visitors feel better and providing a level of care that is beyond that which NHS funding alone could deliver.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

York Bariatric Support Group is a new branch to the York Teaching Hospital Charity to raise money for bariatric patients by bariatric patients and this abseil is the first actual attempt to raise money.  The participants are a mix of post operative patients and their partners and also a couple of the medical team who look after Bariatric Patients on a day to day basis.  The money raised will be patient orientated in its use, whether that is direct care or indirect care.

Bariatric Surgery is not an easy route by any means.  It is one of the most difficult decisions someone with a weight issue will ever have to make, but on the other hand will be the most rewarding decision and life changing. The surgery can allow people to be more productive and the event is part of that being able to be more productive.

The event will take in the abseil which is 65ft at the picturesque Brimham Rocks in North Yorkshire and some of the team have a major phobia of heights so this will be the ultimate challenge for them.  So please give whatever you can.
