I was born on Purim in 2005 and so I am celebrating my Bar Mitzvah on Purim this year. Two of the mitzvot of Purim are to "send portions" (mishloach manot) of food and drink and also to give to people in need (matanot la'evyonim).

I am trying to raise as much money as possible for the charity "GIFT" before my Bar Mitzvah. GIFT's Food Distribution Project supports over 2000 people each week, providing over a tonne of food to families who would not otherwise be able to afford this. £5 means we can provide a package which contains a long life cake, a box of chocolates, dried fruit and nuts. £10 means we can add a bottle of wine.

GIFT will buy the food and then I am going to spend some time with my siblings at the GIFT depot on 13 February making up the packages to be delivered. I would be really grateful if you could help me raise as much as possible so we can provide as many packages as possible to people who would otherwise go without. Thank you! Yossi
