Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you will already know, I got diagnosed with testicluar cancer just under a month ago. Luckily for me, it was caught and dealt with early enough to avoid further treatment for the time being, which is great news. Recurrence is a possibility and so a period of surveillance starts now, but I am very confident that I will get through fitter and healthier than ever.
It took a mere 13 days to scan, diagnose, remove the tumour and then repeat and analyse the tests to give me the all clear. I had very little time to digest all the information and react but The Royal Marsden and Professor David Nicol's urology team in particular were instrumental in guiding me and my family through the process. I am forever indebted to them. The work they do is very special in terms of research, surgery, treatment and aftercare and I want to raise as much money as possible to help them continue to do what they do best!
And so, as a first fundraising challenge, I will be growing and grooming a fabulous moustache during the month of November (some of you may already know this as Movember). The rules are quite simple: start clean shaven on the 1st of November, no shaving of the moustache for a whole month and no connections to sideburns or beards permitted. The picture above shows you what I can do in a few days, so imagine the possibilities in 30! I will of course provide you with weekly updates, or evidence for the more cynical of amongst you.
