We help rebuild lives after a brain injury to empower people to live their potential

Story

Thanks for taking the time to donate following the play and creative arts Conference. I have chosen Aquired Brain Injury Ireland as they were a very important part of our healing journey. Our son was knocked down in 2019 which left him with an Aquired Brain Injury. We were lost for supports as once we completed rehab that was it. As we tried to access services that could understand our pain and needs, we found ABI Ireland who were offering a care for carers of ABI support group. This was the guiding light for us as the professionals involved knew what we had been through before we even told them. Cognitive fatigue was impacting out sons life and all of our lives in the family home till I found ABI Ireland. From here we discovered, there was only supports available for Adults with ABI.

Firstly as a Mother of a child with ABI and then as a Play therapist with a passion to provide services for children and their families. I contacted Ged and Dolores to set up a fundraiser for the Play therapy conference so donations could be made to support their endeavour to provide a service for U18s.

This funding will be ringfenced while ABI Ireland are in the process of setting these services up. This will take time. Please feel free to share the link with others and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting this incredibly important service that is badly needed for all children in Ireland.

With heartfelt thanks
