WE REALLY APPRECIATE EVERYONE'S SUPPORT IN HELPING US RAISE AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE, THIS REALLY MEANS A LOT TO US AND FOR ZAC x
Here is Zac's Story:On Tuesday 20th April 2010 our life changed forever, when our beautiful baby boy Zac was stillborn. Zac was born at home, at 40 weeks 6 days. He was perfect in every way, weighing 8lb 14oz. Life let Zac down and he died during the very quick labour, he should be here today. The overwhelming sadness and devastation we feel cannot be put into words. We miss and love our baby boy more and more everyday xx
Incredibly in the UK today, 17 babies a day are stillborn, or die within the first twenty eight days of life, yet no-one really knows that it happens this day and age, and that sometimes something can be done to save these babies lives.
Surrey SANDS, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, run by volunteers who are bereaved parents themselves, have offered us excellent support. The group is completely self-funded, offering support services across seven hospitals, as well as a helpline, support groups, one to one befriending, and memorial events. Because of the on-going work of SANDS, parents like us get to spend time with their precious baby in hospital. A few hours is not much when you have to somehow learn to live your life without your baby in your arms or ever growing up by your side, but the memories you do build are really really needed, and are so very very precious x
National SANDS run the WHY 17? Campaign which is a programme commited to researching and understanding why, still in this day and age, 17 babies a day die.
FOR THESE REASONS, WE ARE RAISING AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE IN MEMORY OF ZAC FOR SURREY SANDS, TO HELP SUPPORT PARENTS WHO SUFFER THE TRAGIC LOSS OF THEIR BABY. WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT...
